The Cal Expo Farm, presented by Save Mart, is a unique 3.5-acre working farm and one of the most beautiful outdoor venues on the grounds. With lush flower beds, thriving fruit and vegetable crops, shaded picnic areas, and an outdoor kitchen with bleacher seating, The Farm serves as a living classroom, where students in grades K–6 can take part in 1.5–2 hour interactive tours designed primarily around 3rd and 4th grade curriculum.
These tours bring California agriculture to life through lessons on seeds, crop growth, soil health, worm composting, and innovations in farming, all while giving students the chance to taste farm-fresh produce. The California State Fair Farm inspires young minds to explore careers in agriculture and fosters a deeper connection to the industry that sustains our state.
As part of our tour, students will also take a walk in the woods and experience the one-acre forest dedicated to educating Californians about the many benefits of the forests and the value of trees in our everyday lives.
Students will learn how trees provide us with clean air and water, wildlife habitat, and much needed wood products. Learn more here.
